Empty Bowl project to help feed the hungry

Silverado High School will host the Empty Bowl Project Wednesday evening, serving soup and bread in student-made bowls to raise money to feed the hungry.

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the school cafeteria, participants can pay $10 to take home a soup bowl handcrafted by ceramic students from across the Clark County School District, according to Silverado High School teacher Scott Tenenbaum. The school is at 1650 Silver Hawk Ave., near Pebble Road and Spencer Street.

Each bowl comes with homemade soup and bread made by Silverado’s culinary classes. People will also have a chance to walk through the school’s art walk.

All proceeds will go to Three Square food bank to help feed the hungry during the holiday season, Tenenbaum said.
