A fugitive on Hawaii’s most wanted list was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Las Vegas, according to police.
Alexander Nebre, 48, was arrested near the intersection of West Tropicana Avenue and South Valley View Boulevard, according to the U.S. Marshals task force.
He was wanted on three contempt of court warrants totaling $265,000 for failure to appear in his theft trial in January.
Investigators say that three separate times from 2012 to 2014, Nebre claimed to be a licensed contractor and took large down payments for home improvements. Nebre continued to ask for money and but never completed the jobs, according to the Marshals service.
He faces eight counts of theft.
Nebre was booked into the Clark County Detention Center is expected to be extradited to Hawaii.
