Aspiring firefighters are being invited to attend the first of seven recruitment meetings Monday to learn about career opportunities in Clark County.
The first two-hour meeting is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the West Flamingo Senior Center, 6235 Flamingo Road.
“It’s a very competitive process to become a firefighter,” Clark County Fire Chief Greg Cassell said in a press release from participating agencies. “The outreach sessions will give you an opportunity to learn about the process, ask questions, and help yourself become a successful candidate with our fire department or another in Southern Nevada.”
Participating fire departments include the county, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Mesquite, Mount Charleston and Pahrump, the release said.
The other six sessions will run through Dec. 5.
The application process begins at 8 a.m. Dec. 8 and runs until 4,500 people apply or Dec. 22, the release said. Candidates will be required to take written and physical exams.
Information on the process and other meeting times is available at www.snvfirerecruitment.com. Information on the exams is available at www.csn.edu/cpat.
