Hiker who fell to death in Red Rock identified

The man who fell to his death Saturday afternoon at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area was identified Sunday by the Clark County coroner’s office.

He was 41-year-old Todd Jenkins.

Jenkins was hiking and possibly wall climbing when he fell just before 4 p.m., Las Vegas police said Saturday night.

Metro’s search and rescue unit recovered Jenkins’ body Saturday evening, Metro Lt. Ken Romane said. Police originally described the hiker as a man in his early 20s.

Jenkins’ city of residence was unknown Sunday morning, the coroner’s office said.
