Inmate from Clark County dies at UMC

A Nevada inmate serving a sentence for attempted battery died in early February, according to Nevada Department of Corrections officials.

Jay McDonald, 60, died at University Medical Center on Feb. 2. Corrections reported the death Thursday.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release his official cause of death.

McDonald was serving a 12- to 30-month sentence for attempted battery causing substantial bodily harm in Clark County, NDOC stated. He had been in prison since August 2014.
