Las Vegas City Councilman Steve Ross has checked into a hospital but will be back on the job “after a couple days,” according to a family friend.
Ross, who represents Ward 6 in northwest Las Vegas and is up for re-election Tuesday, wasn’t feeling well in the afternoon and decided to go to the hospital at the urging of his wife, Kelli, Ross friend Steve Redlinger said late Tuesday.
“After an initial evaluation, Steve is feeling much better, however, doctors have advised him that they want to perform a few follow-up exams,” Redlinger said. “We expect Steve will remain in the hospital overnight, but I want to emphasize that he is doing fine, and doctors are holding him over strictly out of an abundance of caution.”
Redlinger didn’t say what symptoms prompted the decision to seek medical attention.
Ross is being challenged by commercial real estate broker Suzette Lagrange.
