A Las Vegas family and marriage counselor appeared in federal court Wednesday after his arrest on allegations he solicited a minor for sex.
Ian Alexander Pincombe, 45, was charged in a criminal complaint with coercion and enticement of a minor, according to Nevada U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Carl W. Hoffman ordered Pincombe detained until a May 21 preliminary hearing.
According to the criminal complaint, an undercover Henderson police detective April 30 found a Craigslist.com ad by Pincombe seeking sex with women. Pincombe is alleged to have included a nude photograph of himself.
Over the next two days, the detective, posing as a 13-year-old girl, exchanged sexually explicit emails and text messages with Pincombe, the complaint alleged.
Henderson police arrested Pincombe on May 2 at a shopping center parking lot where authorities said he thought he was to meet with the 13-year-old girl for a sexual encounter.
The case is being investigated by the FBI, Henderson Police Department and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Anyone who might be a victim should call the FBI at 702-385-1281.
