Las Vegas man killed in wreck on Interstate 15 near Sloan

A 42-year-old man is dead after his Pontiac drifted off the side of Interstate 15 near Sloan.

Nevada Highway Patrol officials say Douglas Hutchings of Las Vegas was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash that happened just before 6 a.m. Friday south of Las Vegas.

Troopers say Hutchings’ vehicle was traveling south when it gradually veered to the side, then onto a dirt shoulder and down an embankment. The vehicle spun and rolled over.

Officials say Hutchings was wearing a seat belt and it doesn’t appear he was under the influence at the time of the crash.
