Here are your Tuesday morning headlines:
1. Three people were arrested in connection with a violent home invasion-robbery last week. Immanuel Collins, Samuel Roaque and Josette Paga were all arrested Sunday in connection with a Dec. 27 home invasion in which the intruders held a knife to the 70-year-old homeowner and made the man show how to operate a 2017 Tesla before they drove away in it. Collins and Roaque face multiple felony charges and Paga faces a charge of illegally using a credit or debit card.
2. A man was killed New Year’s Eve after attempting to get into the back of a family’s vehicle. Police say witnesses saw a man being dragged by a black pickup truck on Alexander near Lamb. When the pickup stopped, the man fell before trying to get into the back seat of a nearby SUV. The SUV was occupied by a man, woman, two teens and an infant. Police say the driver shot the intruder after multiple ignored warnings. Police say the shooter will likely not be arrested, saying it looks like a self-defense case.
3. Raiders players are intrigued after news that the franchise may welcome back Jon Gruden. Coach Jack Del Rio was dismissed from coaching duties Sunday following the Raiders’ loss to the Chargers, though ESPN first reported Saturday that the team may be pursuing Gruden.
