Las Vegas motorcyclist dies from injuries a week after crash

A motorcyclist critically injured after a sedan made a left turn into the path of his bike has died, Las Vegas police said on Tuesday.

Alvin Willingham, 58, of Las Vegas, was riding a 1980 Yamaha motorcycle when he crashed into a 1999 Oldsmobile 88 on Jan. 19 on Flamingo Road near Escondido Street, police said. Willingham was headed west on Flamingo. The Oldsmobile was eastbound and turned in front of him into a shopping center.

Willingham was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in critical condition, police said. He died Monday.

The man in the Oldsmobile remained on the scene and suffered minor injuries, police said. The crash remains under investigation.
