Las Vegas police arrest suspect in stabbing on Strip

One man was in the hospital and a suspect was arrested following a Friday morning stabbing on the Strip, Las Vegas police said.

Officers responded to a call from security at Planet Hollywood Resort about 7:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South. A man had told them he was stabbed in the torso near the front of the hotel, police said.

Security told police they confronted a suspect and he threatened them with a knife before taking off. Officers arrested a suspect a short time later, police said.

Although the victim told officers he was stabbed in front of Planet Hollywood, police said they have not found the stabbing scene.

The wounded man was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

This was the second stabbing incident on the Strip on Friday morning.
