Las Vegas police seek machete-wielding convenience store robber

Police are seeking a machete-wielding robber and his accomplice who they say are linked to a May 22 holdup in the northwest Las Vegas Valley.

The day of the robbery, the two men walked in a convenience store near the intersection of Rancho Drive and Rainbow Boulevard, Las Vegas police said. One asked for cigarettes, but the other pulled out a machete and threatened the cashier, demanding money.

“Open the register or you’re dead,” one man reportedly said, and he held the weapon against the clerk’s chest. The men then took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.

Police on Tuesday released still images of the men taken from surveillance footage.

Anyone with information about the robbery can call Metro at 702-828-3591. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
