Man accused in Oregon nightclub shooting arrested in Vegas

PORTLAND, Ore. — Police say a 23-year-old man indicted in last November’s fatal shooting of a man outside a northeast Portland nightclub has been arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Portland police say Xavier Bolden was arrested Monday on a murder warrant by the Las Vegas Criminal Apprehension Team. Portland police detectives were in Nevada on Tuesday to continue the investigation.

Bolden was booked into the Clark County, Nevada, Detention Center to await extradition to Oregon.

A grand jury in Portland has indicted Bolden on one count of murder, additional counts of attempted aggravated murder and related charges in a Nov. 9, 2013, shooting outside the Fontaine Bleau Nightclub. The gunfire killed 30-year-old Durieul Harris and injured two other people.

Officers arrived that night to find a crowd of 75-100 people involved in a disturbance and Harris suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police say anonymous tips given to Crime Stoppers of Oregon and what police called “a few brave witnesses coming forward” were critical in securing the indictment.
