Man arrested at McCarran Airport after a Southwest Airlines incident

Las Vegas police responded to a call for assistance after an altercation aboard a Southwest Airlines flight was reported at McCarran International Airport.

Southwest Airlines requested police assistance after a “disturbance” related to Southwest flight 242, arriving from Atlanta, McCarran spokeswoman Christine Crews said. It is unknown whether the disturbance occurred before or after the plane had landed.

Metro Lt. Jeff Goodwin said that police responded around 3:20 p.m. to the airport where an intoxicated man in the Transportation Security Administration area was being verbally abusive towardsairport staff.

The man did not obey the commands of the staff and had to be physically restrained to the ground by police, Goodwin said.

The man was arrested and booked on a charge of violating airport rules and resisting arrest, Goodwin said.
