Man arrested in fatal Tuesday shooting

Metro detectives made an arrest in connection with the shooting death of a man who was left in a west valley street on Tuesday.

Andrew Curry, 33, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and faces charges of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon and possession of a gun by a prohibited person. He was arrested Tuesday. Curry walked into Saint Rose Dominican Hospital, San Martin campus, with apparent gunshot wounds while police were investigating the homicide.

Officers were dispatched to the Willowhill Street and Cape Flattery Avenue intersection, near Buffalo Drive and Tropicana Avenue, just before 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. The man was either pushed or jumped from a vehicle, police said in a news release sent Wednesday night.

The man died at University Medical Center. Metro did not provide his identity but said he lived in the 8100 block of Cape Flattery.

His name will be released by the Clark County coroner's office after his family has been notified.

This is the 89th homicide investigated by Metro this year.
