Man killed in Friday’s 7-motorcycle crash identified

The man who died in a chain-reaction crash of seven motorcycles on state Route 160 Friday afternoon was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office on Saturday as Kevin Rubio, 28, of North Las Vegas.

He and six others were trying to pass an RV in pairs five miles west of state Route 159 about 1:45 p.m., according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The first motorcyclist pair slowed after passing the RV, causing a chain-reaction crash between the three pairs, NHP said.

Rubio and another man, who was airlifted to University Medical Center in critical condition, were the fifth and sixth riders, NHP said. A seventh rider crashed into a truck.
