Man killed in North Las Vegas

A Las Vegas man is dead following a Friday morning shooting in North Las Vegas, police said.

First responders were sent to a business in the 500 block of West Cheyenne Ave. about 9 a.m., where they found a 47-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds, North Las Vegas police officer Aaron Patty said.

The man was on the ground in critical condition, according to police. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he later died.

The preliminary investigation indicated the man had entered the business and started a fight with a 43-year-old employee.

Police said a 53-year-old employee pulled out a gun and shot the man.

Investigators believe the men knew each other and that the case was not a random act of violence. No arrests have been made yet and detectives continue to investigate the case.

The Clark County coroner’s office will release the man’s identity and official cause and manner of death after his family has been notified.

Anyone with additional information regarding this case can call North Las Vegas police at 702-633-9111. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
