A man struck by a vehicle late Saturday in the southeastern Las Vegas Valley has died.
Jeffrey Miller, 53, of Las Vegas died of complications from injuries he suffered about 11:30 p.m. Saturday, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement.
Police said Miller was walking east in the left lane on Warm Springs Road, near South Tamarus Street, when a Toyota Prius struck him. It wasn’t immediately clear why Miller was walking in the roadway.
Both Miller and the Toyota’s 65-year-old driver were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where Miller later died. The driver, who police said showed no signs of impairment, suffered minor injuries and has been released from the hospital.
The collision remained under investigation Monday morning.
Miller’s death is the first traffic-related fatality investigated by Metro this year.
