A 23-year-old man who was found dead in a car Tuesday afternoon near Desert Inn Road and Interstate 15 was identified Wednesday by the Clark County coroner’s office.
He is 23-year-old Christopher Allen Downie, the coroner’s office said.
Police were called at 3:23 p.m. Tuesday to 3230 W. Desert Inn Road, near South Rancho Drive, where they found a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds in a vehicle’s passenger seat, the department wrote in a release Wednesday.
Metro said Downie was in the vehicle with another man when they were confronted by two “unknown” people. During the confrontation, Downie was shot multiple times.
The coroner’s office ruled Downie’s death a homicide.
No suspects have been named in the shooting and the motive remains unclear, police wrote in the release.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal originally reported that Downie was taken to University Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting and was not taken to a hospital, police said.
