A man was hospitalized with serious burns after a small fire in his apartment.
Crews responded about 3 p.m. Tuesday to an apartment complex at 1400 S. Valley View Blvd, near Charleston Boulevard, Las Vegas Fire Department spokesman Tim Szymanski said.
The man was found lying on a bedroom floor, and he was taken to University Medical Center.
Firefighters found a small area of the bedroom carpet was smoldering. The fire was quickly doused.
Szymanski said the man suffered serious second- and third-degree burns on his legs, and had suffered minor smoke inhalation. The injured man’s injuries prevented him from talking to fire investigators, Szymanski said.
The fire’s cause was under investigation; damage was estimated at $500.
