North Las Vegas police ID alleged shooter in Wednesday homicide

North Las Vegas police arrested a man in connection with a Wednesday night shooting that left another man dead.

Police said Mark Cadwallader, 44, of North Las Vegas, shot and killed Richard David Gogo Jr., 45, of North Las Vegas, in the garage of his home in the 4800 block of Glowing Garnet Street, near the intersection of Bruce Street and Lone Mountain Road.

Police said Thursday that the two men knew each other and had an argument prior to the shooting.

Officers were dispatched to Glowing Garnet about 4:30 p.m. and found Gogo suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He had been shot multiple times and died at University Medical Center, police said.

The Clark County coroner's office identified Gogo on Thursday but had not determined the official cause and manner of his death.

Cadwallader was at the home when police arrived, the department said. He was not hurt.

Another man who lives at the home was not involved in the fight, police said.

Cadwallader was arrested on one count of murder with a deadly weapon and was booked into the Las Vegas City Jail.
