North Las Vegas police name arrested in Sunday shooting
North Las Vegas police Tuesday identified the man they arrested in connection to a fatal shooting over the weekend.
Ajuan Malcolm Theus, 22, faces one count of first degree murder with a deadly weapon in the death of 25-year-old C’Dario Burns.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Theus and Burns were in a verbal argument Sunday in the front yard of a home in the 5400 block of Jose Ernesto Street, near Camino Al Norte and Ann Road, when they began shooting at each other.
Burns ran to his car where police believe Theus shot him multiple times before fleeing the scene. Burns was taken to University Medical Center where he died of a gunshot wound to the head, the coroner said Tuesday.
Theus returned to the scene while police were still investigating and was taken into custody without incident.
