One dead after west valley scooter crash

A scooter driver died after a west valley crash involving a car Saturday, police said.

Las Vegas police responded to a call about a collision in the 9200 block of West Charleston Boulevard, near South Rampart Boulevard, at 6:14 p.m., Lt. Jeff Goodwin said.

The driver, who was critically injured, died while being taken to University Medical Center.

The driver of the car stayed at the scene of the crash and was cooperating with police, Goodwin said.

It was the 75th traffic fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
