Pedestrian critical after being struck by car near Las Vegas Strip

A man is in critical condition after he was hit by a car while jaywalking near the Las Vegas Strip on Friday night, police said.

The 37-year-old Texas man was hit just after midnight while running across Tropicana Avenue, near Ocean Drive, at a crosswalk when the “do not walk” signal was lit.

He was taken to the University Medical Center with critical injuries. The driver of the car that hit him was not hurt.

Metro is still investigating the crash.
