Pedestrian dead after crash in northeast Las Vegas

A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night later died, Las Vegas police said.

The woman was in the area of Cheyenne Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard North around 9:35 p.m. when she was hit, Metro Lt. W. Graham said. It was unclear whether she was in a marked crosswalk.

The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition where she later died, Graham said.

Metro's fatal-detail investigators were en route to the crash around 10:45 p.m. The intersection was expected to be shut down for a few hours.

The Clark County coroner's office will release the woman's name once his family has been notified.
