A man hit by a car Monday in the central valley has died, the Metropolitan Police Department announced Wednesday.
He was initially hospitalized at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said. On Wednesday, the Clark County coroner’s office told Metro the man had died.
Police said the man, between 60 and 70 years old, was crossing Sahara Avenue east of Maryland Parkway about 6:10 a.m. Monday when he was hit by a 2003 Nissan Sentra heading east.
The Nissan’s 36-year-old driver stayed at the scene, and police said impairment was not a factor.
The coroner’s office will identify the man once his next of kin is notified.
His death marks the 93rd traffic fatality Metro has investigated this year.
