Pedestrian struck by car, critically hurt in East Las Vegas

A pedestrian was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with critical injuries after being hit by a car Friday night, according to Las Vegas police.

Around 11:30 p.m., a pedestrian was crossing Mojave Road from west to east and was outside of a marked crosswalk, police said. A 2015 Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Mojave Road. As the pedestrian walked in front of the Honda, the front of the Honda hit the right side of the pedestrian.

Police said the driver of the Honda remained at the scene and was not impaired.

The collision remains under investigation by police.
