Pedestrian struck, killed in Sunday night accident
A 47-year-old man was killed Sunday night after being struck by a pickup, Las Vegas police said in a media release.
The accident occurred about 10:15 p.m. near West Flamingo Road and South Decatur Boulevard.
Las Vegas police said witnesses reported that the pedestrian was crossing Flamingo outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a 2000 Toyota Tundra.
The Las Vegas man was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The truck’s driver, John Lyke, 49, of Las Vegas, remained at the scene.
This is the fifth traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2015. The accident remains under investigation.
