Pedestrian struck and killed after crash in south Las Vegas

A 52-year-old Las Vegas man was killed early Friday morning after he was struck by a vehicle in the south Las Vegas Valley.

The crash occurred just after 5:45 a.m. on West Tropicana Avenue east of South Arville Street when a 2020 Ford Explorer struck a pedestrian who was outside a crosswalk, according to a Metropolitan Police Department news release.

The victim was taken to University Medical Center, where he died.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

The pedestrian’s death marks the 150th traffic-related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction for 2025.
