Police: Juvenile almost drowns at central valley apartment complex

Las Vegas police responded to a near drowning at an apartment complex in the central Las Vegas Valley on Tuesday night.

Metro supervisor Lt. Bruce Miyama said a 16-year-old boy was found in a swimming pool in the Hidden Cove apartment complex, located at 3335 Hauck St., near West Desert Inn Road and South Decatur Boulevard, at about 6:20 p.m.

The boy was swimming with family and friends in the large swimming pool when they noticed the boy was floating, Miyama said. The boy’s family and complex security attempted to revive the boy with CPR, but he did not regain consciousness.

He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Miyama said at 10:30 p.m. the boy was listed as critical but stable. He had not yet regained consciousness.
