Las Vegas police said the man who was found shot dead Thursday morning in a northwest valley apartment complex may have died during a robbery.
The man was discovered face down and unresponsive by a resident of the Quail Tree Apartments, 7100 Alexander Road, near U.S. Highway 95, Metro Lt. Dan McGrath told reporters. He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders at about 5 a.m.
A single shell casing was found near the body, McGrath said.
Police said the man was shot in the complex’s parking lot, and he then ran. The man fell about 100 feet away, where police said he died on patch of grass within the complex.
No one is in custody, and police have not identified a suspect.
The shooting happened about 1.7 miles away from where another man was found shot to death Wednesday morning, near U.S. 95 and Lone Mountain Road.
When asked if the two deaths were related, McGrath said, “I can’t definitively say they’re not,” but explained it would be “a stretch.”
The Clark County coroner’s office will release the identities of the deceased.
