The pedestrian who was in critical condition after he was hit by a car Tuesday night was named Wednesday morning by Las Vegas police.
Deangelo Mantilla, 18, of Las Vegas, was jaywalking from west to east on Boulder Highway, north of South Broadbent Boulevard, about 9 p.m. when he was hit by a 2014 Dodge Charger traveling north on Boulder highway, Metro wrote in a release Wednesday morning.
The front of the Charger struck Mantilla on his right side, knocking him to the ground.
Mantilla suffered head trauma and was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with critical injuries, Metro Lt. Bruce Miyama said Tuesday night.
The 64-year-old woman who was driving the Charger stayed at the scene, police said. She and the 68-year-old man who was a passenger in the car did not suffer injuries in the crash.
