Proposal to sell custom trikes in Summerlin tabled

The Las Vegas Planning Commission tabled a request Tuesday for a special use permit to allow Custom Motor Creations to display and sell custom-built trikes at its property in the master-planned Summerlin community.

The applicant has six months to bring the item back for possible action.

Custom Motor Creations wants to use about 5,000 square feet of indoor space at 10050 Banburry Cross Drive to sell the trikes. The remaining space at the 54,000-square-foot building, owned by Hughes Property Management, will be used for light manufacturing, which is permitted under Summerlin Development Standards.

The two-seat trikes are built with Chevy V-8 engines and priced from $42,000 for the base model.

Garth Kloehn, manager of both Custom Motor Creations and Hughes Property Management, did not return a call for comment.
