Southwest valley apartment fire displaces three

Three people were displaced from their apartment Thursday night after a fire tore through their unit in the southwest valley.

The fire started at 7:43 p.m., when Clark County fire crews responded to 6650 W. Warm Springs Road, near the Rainbow Boulevard intersection. It took five engines, one truck and an air resource unit — about 30 people — seven minutes to extinguish the flames.

The blaze was contained within the original unit, but three surrounding apartments in the Pinehurst complex had significant smoke damage.

Though the three people in the original unit were displaced, they were able to stay with someone they knew Thursday night.

No one was injured in the blaze, and it was unclear what the cause of the fire was. A damage estimate was not immediately available.
