Southwest valley residents return after ‘suspicious package’ evacuation

Residents of a southwest valley neighborhood are allowed to return to their homes after police closed the area to investigate reports of a “suspicious device.”

The call came in about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 7500 block of Morisset Avenue, near the intersection of Buffalo Drive and Erie Avenue, Metro officer Larry Hadfield said.

Nearby homes were evacuated and roads in the “immediate area” were closed for about two hours, Hadfield said.

Metro declined to release information about what the device was. No injuries were reported.
