Strip at Spring Mountain reopens after crash investigation

Southbound lanes on the Las Vegas Strip near Spring Mountain Road have reopened after a five-hour closure that allowed police to investigate a crash that sent a bicyclist to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened about 8 a.m. Monday in the 3300 block of Las Vegas Boulevard South, Metro said in a news release. The roadway reopened just before 1 p.m., according to the Regional Transportation Commission.

The male bicyclist was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center's trauma unit.
