Teenage bicyclist struck by car Friday has died, coroner says

A 13-year-old boy who was critically injured Friday when he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle in the southwest valley has died, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

Cameron DeMaranville, of Las Vegas, was crossing Dewey Drive near Jones Boulevard in a crosswalk about 8:30 p.m. when he was struck by a 2003 Toyota Corolla, according to Metro.

The boy and the bike were pinned underneath the front of the car. He was taken to University Medical Center where he died Sunday at 10:31 a.m.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy, was not charged.
