Toddler airlifted to UMC after falling in Moapa Valley pool at Fourth of July gathering

A toddler who fell into a pool in Moapa Valley on Monday afternoon was airlifted to University Medical Center’s trauma unit, Las Vegas police said.

The toddler fell into the pool about 4:30 p.m. at a Fourth of July gathering with family at a 1200 block of Mahoney Avenue home, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Jeff Goodwin said.

When officers arrived, the toddler, who was between 18 months old and 2 years old, was responsive and breathing, but was airlifted to UMC.

As of 9 p.m., Goodwin said the child was in good condition and had been admitted for observation at the hospital.

It’s unclear whether anyone at the gathering will face charges.
