A toddler was recovered nearly lifeless from a pool in the northwest valley Thursday night.
The boy was found floating and unresponsive in the water at a home on the 10400 block of Chimney Flat Court — near Alexander Road and the 215 Beltway — just before 8 p.m., Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Timothy Hatchett said.
Medics responded in less than 10 minutes and rushed the child to Summerlin Hospital Medical Center in critical condition, where medics were still working on him about an hour later, Hatchett said.
As of 11 p.m. the boy’s condition was listed as serious but stable.
Police were at the home through Thursday night conducting a preliminary investigation. Both the boys parents were cooperating with detectives, Metro Lt. Charles Jenkins said.
As of 11 p.m. it was still unclear how the child ended up in the pool, whether the child was unattended and whose care the child was in.
