Two families displaced by southeast Las Vegas house fire

Two families were displaced by a house fire Thursday afternoon in the southeast valley, the Clark County Fire Department reported.

A caller reported the fire at the two-story home around 1 p.m. Thursday at 9836 Raven Wing Canyon Court, near East Silverado Ranch Boulevard and South Spencer Street, Deputy Fire Chief Kelly Blackmon said in a statement.

Upon arrival, crews called for additional units because of “the high winds and exposures,” according to the statement, which noted that 47 firefighters were at the scene.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The Henderson Fire Department assisted the county department with the fire.

American Red Cross of Southern Nevada is assisting two families — six adults and two children in total — displaced by the fire, Red Cross Public Information Officer Jessica Uribe said in a release. Red Cross Disaster Action Team volunteers are meeting with the residents to ensure they have a place to sleep, food, clothing, medication and other essentials, Uribe said.
