Vegas freeway briefly closed by woman walking in traffic

Three lanes of U.S. Highway 95 were closed briefly Wednesday morning when a woman ran into traffic to elude police, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.

The woman, who was not identified by police, was walking along the northbound highway around 9:30 a.m., and motorists called police, NHP Trooper Loy Hixson said. When police approached to talk to her, she ran to into the median, he said.

NHP shut down the northbound lanes near Eastern Boulevard and Las Vegas Police apprehended the woman. No injuries were reported.
