West Las Vegas barricade, school lockdown lifted after police apprehend suspect
December 18, 2015 - 10:09 am
A west valley neighborhood is no longer barricaded and Culley Elementary School is no longer locked down Friday morning after a police pursuit ended peacefully with one in custody.
Las Vegas police started pursuing a car they say was involved in a robbery and domestic violence call about 8:30 a.m. after the driver failed to stop near the intersection of Boulder Highway and Lamb Boulevard, officer Laura Meltzer said.
That pursuit took officers to a residence near the intersection of Saylor Way and Washington Avenue, which is near the elementary school.
About a block away, where Saylor meets Rae Drive, the driver struck an unoccupied vehicle at 9:15 a.m.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
