Woman arrested in North Las Vegas shooting death

A woman has been arrested in connection with Saturday night’s homicide in North Las Vegas, according to police.

Christine Sanchez, 44, was booked Thursday at the Las Vegas City Jail on one count of murder with a deadly weapon and one count of robbery with a deadly weapon.

Bonnie Rice, 52, was found dead inside of her apartment in the La Serena at the Parque apartment complex, West Alexander Road near North Martin Luther King Boulevard, about 11 p.m, Saturday. She died of multiple gunshot and stab wounds, according to the Clark County coroner’s office.

Based on the investigation, police say Sanchez and Rice knew each other.

Police said Sanchez fled the scene in Rice’s car. Sanchez was found later in the car by police in the 4900 block of West Tropicana.
