The 20-year-old woman who was in critical condition after a Friday night shooting died Saturday, according to North Las Vegas police.
Police responded at 7:17 p.m. Friday to the 2600 block of Small Mountain Avenue, near Tropical Parkway and Losee Road, to a woman who was shot in her car.
She was identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as Andrea Lafon.
Lafon was taken to University Medical Center in “extremely critical condition,” police said Friday night. UMC medical personnel pronounced her dead Saturday morning, according North Las Vegas police spokeswoman Chrissie Coon.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Lafon was sitting in her car with a friend when the pair met with a group of people who were on foot. An argument broke out and someone in the group pulled out a gun and shot into the vehicle, striking Lafon.
Police do not believe this was a random act of violence and they are still looking for the shooter.
