Woman killed in early morning crash on Summerlin Parkway ID’d

The woman killed in a rollover crash on Summerlin Parkway early Wednesday morning has been identified by the Clark County coroner.

Stacey Palmer, 37, of Las Vegas was driving a white Saturn Ion about 12:30 a.m. east on Summerlin Parkway, just west of Rampart Boulevard. Palmer failed to maintain lanes, according to NHP trooper Jason Buratczuk.

The vehicle went off the road to the right and into the dirt, Buratczuk said. The preliminary investigation indicated that Palmer then over-corrected, and the vehicle spun into the center median and overturned, throwing her from the vehicle, according to NHP. Palmer was not wearing a seat belt, the agency said.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, Buratczuk said.

Investigators determined that speed was a factor in the crash, according to the trooper.

This is the third fatal crash this year in NHP’s southern command jurisdiction, the agency wrote in a release.
