Wind advisory remains in effect for Las Vegas Valley

Get ready to hold onto your hats … or hairpieces … or small animals.

Gusty winds from the southwest have returned to the region and are expected to stick around through Friday evening, according to the National Weather Service. A wind advisory remains in effect through 7 p.m. Friday.

Widespread 30 mph to 45 mph gusts are expected across southern Nevada, and could produce dangerous crosswinds and blowing dust.

Friday’s temperatures are expected to reach 72 with a low of 49. The weekend highs are forecast for the mid-60s with lows in the 40s.
