Hot, rainy week forecast for Las Vegas

Updated July 16, 2017 - 9:24 pm

The Las Vegas Valley will be hot with a chance of thunderstorms every day this week, according to the National Weather Service.

Sunday’s high reached 110 degrees, and brought rain and nickel-sized hail to the southwest valley, according to meteorologist Kate Guillet.

The thunderstorms caused “nuisance flooding,” Guillet said, with water pooling in roadways but not causing any serious delays or damage.

Monday’s high is expected to reach 107 degrees. Tuesday’s high is expected to drop to 105 degrees. A 20 percent chance of thunderstorms is forecast on both days, Guillet said.

Chances of thunderstorms will increase Wednesday and Thursday to around 40 percent, with the forecast highs for those days dropping to 96 and 103 degrees, respectively. Friday’s forecast high is 106.

The weekend will have a slight chance of rain with highs near 107 degrees.
