Las Vegas Valley will heat up by the weekend

The Las Vegas Valley saw slightly cooler temperatures and clear skies Thursday before temperatures begin to rise this weekend.

Thursday saw a high of 102 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to climb into the weekend, with a high of 104 expected Friday, 108 on Saturday and 110 on Sunday.

There is no chance for rain in the valley in the coming week, weather service meteorologist Caleb Steele said.

The haze in the air on Wednesday, from Arizona dust and California wildfire smoke, was mostly cleared out by late afternoon.

“A lot of it actually cleared up yesterday because of the wind,” Steel said.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday may see winds up to 20 miles per hour in the afternoon, though most of the valley will see light winds around 10 mph, Steele said.

Some moisture will move into the valley late next week with a 10 percent chance of rain Thursday, Steele said.
