Sunny skies forecast Friday, but rain may be on the way

The rest of the week will stay dry and sunny, but thunderstorms could return to the Las Vegas Valley this weekend.

Thursday hit 109 degrees, and Friday should reach 109, according to the National Weather Service.

The high should climb to 110 degrees by Saturday, the weather service said, but will cool slightly to 107 on Sunday with a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms.

Temperatures will drop again Monday, with a forecast high of 102 degrees and a 30 percent chance of storms, the weather service said.
