ROUNDUP: Reese leads Shadow Ridge girls to win

Mallory Reese won a 2.8-mile race in 18 minutes, 33 seconds Wednesday to lead Shadow Ridge’s girls cross country team to the win in a three-team meet at Cimarron-Memorial.

The Mustangs garnered 19 points, followed by Faith Lutheran (53) and Cimarron-Memorial (62).

Shadow Ridge’s Kaela Dotson took second in 19:21, and teammate Kelsie Harper was third in 20:20.

Panthers win four-team meet
At Cheyenne, Palo Verde’s Kelsi Koch took first place with a time of 17:01 on a 2.59-mile course to help the Panthers win the meet.

Palo Verde finished with 20 points. The Meadows was second with 57 points, followed by Mojave (64) and Cheyenne (65).

The Meadows’ Megan Alexander finished second in 17:28.

Thornock helps Clark to victory
At Clark, the host Chargers escaped with a narrow win in a three-team meet.

Clark, led by a second-place finisher Julianna Thornock in 20:43, finished with 36 points. Sierra Vista was second with 42, and Spring Valley took third with 43.

Spring Valley’s Dannica Puente won the 2.7-mile race in 20:15.

Jaguars edge Vikings
At Desert Pines, the host Jaguars had four of the top seven finishers to edge Valley, 29-31.

Valley’s Guadalupe Gomez won the 3.1-mile course in 23:03.

Desert Pines’ Keishia Greenhouse was second in 24:15, and Valley’s Nyikia Owen took third in 24:37.

Depth carries Wildcats to win
At North Las Vegas Golf Course, Las Vegas had three of the top four finishers on its way to a 20-43 win over Eldorado.

Eldorado’s Gabriella Vaszquez won the 2.5-mile race in 17:40, followed by Las Vegas’ Sophie Frederiksen (18:12) and Shelby Nelson (18:39).

Bonanza takes five of top eight in win

At Bonanza, the Bengals placed five runners in the top eight, led by second-place finisher Stephanie Williams, to win a home meet with 27 points.

Clare Finley (21:55) won the 3.1-mile race for Gorman, which was second with 31. Pahrump Valley was third with 108.
